Lamb

Lamb is a type of red meat from young sheep.

It is similar to beef but is often higher in calories and fat. It is rich in protein, providing all the essential amino acids, making good protein quality. It has no carbs or fiber. It is rich in iron, vitamin B12, zinc, phosphorus, and selenium. It is healthy but contains a bit more fat than other meats.

It is high in filling as it is high in protein.

Lamb is a popular food, but not as popular as beef or chicken, but it is still accessible almost everywhere for a reasonable price.

Lamb can be beneficial for both weight gain and loss. However, it is not as good for weight loss as weight gain because it is higher in calories and fat than other types of meat, and chicken or turkey will be far better if you want to lose weight.

Alternatives:

  • Beef
  • Chicken
  • Pork

Beef and pork are more similar to lamb than chicken because chicken is way lower in calories and fat, but they are all great protein sources.
