Chickpeas

Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a type of legume.

One hundred grams of chickpeas contain 165, 27 grams of carbs, 9 grams of protein, 2 grams of fat, and 7 grams of fiber. This food is mainly a carb and fiber source. It has a decent amount of protein but is a plant, meaning it does not have all the essential amino acids. It is low in fat and on the higher side of calories in legume types.

They are notably rich in folate and provide many other minerals such as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. They are, overall, a good source of minerals.

Chickpeas are satiating due to their high fiber and protein content, which can help promote feelings of fullness and aid in appetite control.

Chickpeas are commonly available worldwide and widely consumed in various cuisines. In terms of cost, chickpeas are generally considered affordable compared to some other foods or legumes.
