Single arm lat row

The single-arm lat row is a pull exercise that targets the lats, mainly the upper part of the lat and the rear delts, to an extent.

With this specific setup, you need an iso-lateral row machine; these machines have seats, but if you do it standing, you can hit the lats perfectly. Doing it standing will make the exercise less stable, but if you aren't very strong, it won't be a problem to stand.

This exercise is about semi-high fatigue, the added stability from the seat, and if you can support a leg while doing it, it will become less fatiguing.

Only some gyms have this specific machine, but there are similar alternatives that are even easier to execute.

Facts:

  • Compound movement
  • Lengthened position (due to the structure of the machine)
  • Fatiguing
  • Many variations

Alternatives

  • Cable lat row
  • Machine lat row

The cable lat row is more stable and does not require any specific machine, making it more accessible.

A machine lat row is more stable, so it won't be as fatiguing.
