The Hex press is a dumbbell press variation where the dumbbells are put together. Doing a Hex press limits your range of motion, and the chest can hardly get shortened and lengthened.
The hex press is more stable than a regular dumbbell press because of how the dumbbells are placed.
It's less fatiguing than a regular dumbbell press as well, but mainly because it isn't as effective.
The hex press is just as accessible as any other dumbbell press variation; however, we do not recommend you do this variation because it is simply not effective.
Facts:
- Compound movement
- Easy to perform
- Lengthened
- Not effective
Alternatives
- Flat dumbbell press
- Barbell bench press
These alternatives can get you further if you want a bigger chest. They are less stable but will effectively hit your chest.
